Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise the spirits of those less fortunate and create a sense of a caring community.
Originally, ‘Turkeys for All’ provided turkeys to the local food bank, who was not financially able to provide turkeys to all vulnerable families in our community. The ‘Turkeys for All’ founder dissolved this charity when he moved out of the area. Turkeys & More was started by former Kootenai County Commissioner Evalyn Adams in 2017. For the following five years Turkeys & More worked in conjunction with other non-profit charities to provide turkeys for those in need. In, 2022 Turkeys & More filed for and received it’s own 501(c)(3) non-profit charity status.
Turkeys & More has expanded it’s turkey donations to 21 other Food Relief Organizations in Northern Idaho.
Our approach
Our Thanksgiving Goal
Our goal is to provide turkeys to the vulnerable families in our community so that they may enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal in the safety and comfort of their own home.
Being able to partake in a Thanksgiving meal with your family is a wonderful tradition. It is reassuring to know that your community cares and people are willing to share their bounty.
How we do it
Through the kind and generous donations of our private citizens, community business, and some grants we are able to raise enough funds to purchase the turkeys required.
Our entire team works diligently fundraising all year long. We rely on the kindness and generosity of our community to make thousands of Thanksgiving meals a reality.
